What is the Past and Present Society?
The Past & Present Society is a forum for Professor Bridgman to continue lecturing in an informal environment. Lectures are generally one evening a week for 5-6 weeks. The topics vary depending on whatever historical vein has caught his attention. All are welcome. The class fee is $50 per series. The location varies, but is always on the University of Washington campus.

Professor Emeritus Jon Bridgman
Jon Bridgman is a European historian and a professor emeritus of the University of Washington. Bridgman, a graduate of Stanford University, spent his entire teaching career at the University of Washington. He was the recipient of the university's Distinguished Teaching Award in 1973, and remained one of the most popular lecturers on campus for the following three decades. His popularity as a speaker earned him a position lecturing to the annual meeting of the UW Alumni Association from 1987 to the present, and the alumni have rewarded his retirement by donating sufficient funds to endow the Jon Bridgman Professorship in History at the University of Washington.
